1. What usually happens at a party? How do you structure the time?
I make a point of knowing as much as possible about all of my products, and I can talk about them endlessly! However, I prefer not to have a formal presentation. Women like to chat and enjoy each other’s company. Plus, the products inspire good questions and great conversation, so I like to let the party take its natural course—whatever that may be. It’s your party, enjoy it!
2. How long does a party usually last?
I suggest you plan about 2 ½ to 3 hours from the time all the guests have arrived—which allows time for everyone to mingle and enjoy each others’ company, ask questions, and place orders (done privately).
3. How long will it take to get the products I order at the party?
People are always excited to take their new toys home to play—so I bring an assortment of my most popular items to each party. Most of the time, every one of your guests will leave with her order.
On the chance that I do not have a particular item with me, I can fill the order and get it delivered within about 2-3 business days.
4. I want to host a party. How many women should I invite?
The more the merrier! Parties are most successful—most fun!—when at least 8 women besides you and me attend. Ideally, there will be 12 guests.
Remember: invite more people than you expect to come, and follow up a few days before the party to ensure a good turnout.
Please encourage guests to visit Signature Sensuality’s online store so they are aware of the kinds of products they will find at the party. They should contact me if a particular product they see online intrigues them. That way, I can have the item on-hand at the party. There is absolutely no obligation to purchase—but knowing in advance what interests you and your guests really helps me help you!
5. How do I invite people to a Signature Sensuality Party?
One option is to hand out professionally-printed invitations. A hand-written invite is a nearly-lost but treasured art, which means that your friends will notice the invite in a way they won’t notice an email. If you’d like to go this route, let me know how many invitations I can supply you with—they’re free of charge!
Another option: Electronic invitations are very popular and convenient for guests and hosts. Please be sure to include me on the invite. Because e-invites are so easily lost in inboxes, follow-up reminders are especially important. For this reason, I suggest you invite your friends between 14 and 17 days in advance, and send two reminders before the party—early in the week before the party, and again the day before the party.
Would you like some specific wording for your invite? Let me know, and I’ll be happy to provide some examples of what to include. Just fyi: people usually appreciate knowing that I accept all forms of payment, including cash, checks and credit cards.
6. Can I invite boyfriends/husbands/guy friends to the party?
Typically, parties are for women only.
Signature Sensuality respects all people and their intimate desires—but addressing women’s questions, concerns, and needs is central to my business. Women are often more comfortable asking questions about the products in a single-sex group. That said, if you are interested in a mixed gender party, contact me so we can discuss the best way to approach this.
Remember guests and partners can always shop online together. Invited guests can come with a list of items they or their partner is interested in learning more about. They can send me this list in advance to ensure I have most if not all of the products on-hand at the party. I am also happy to do a private consultation with any couple interested in learning more about the products.
7. Can I invite my lesbian friends/girlfriend to the party?
Yes.
Parties attended exclusively by women often provide the most comfortable atmosphere to talk casually about sex, sensuality, toys, and accessories. Sexual preference is irrelevant in that context. However, do let me know if you would like your party to feature products and/or books that are especially popular for use by women with women.
(And although it should go without saying, I’ll say it anyway: Signature Sensuality is a GLBT-friendly company.)
8. Can my guests bring their friends to the party?
If it’s okay by you, it’s okay by me. I really enjoy meeting new people and I am honored when people invite a friend to share in my unique perspective.
9. The friends I really want to invite don’t live around here. How can I throw a party for them??
So glad you asked! What you want to do is throw a virtual party. Here’s how it works:
- Contact me about throwing a virtual party.
- I’ll send you an easily-forwarded introduction to Signature Sensuality and instructions on how to let me know who you invited.
- Email all your friends the introduction to Signature Sensuality (be sure to bcc me on those invites so I know who you invited!)
- Any orders placed within the next 10 days by your invitees will apply toward your party sales—and you’ll reap the rewards.
10. Do I have to help with the orders or delivery?
No. I handle all orders and delivery. As a hostess you only need to invite guests and follow up with me about RSVPs!
In case any of your guests ask: given the sensitive nature of my products, any product purchases and ensuing discussions are and will remain completely confidential.
11. Is it required that guests place an order… for something? Anything?
Let’s be honest here. I am running a business and I cover my costs by selling products. But I don’t want to sell you—or your guests—a toy or a book or a sensual accessory because you feel obligated to buy something.
I want you—and your guests—to feel comfortable exploring the array of toys, books and accessories that are available to help you enjoy your sensual, sexual selves even more.
Big-box stores that focus on novelty products and porn are rarely comfortable places for women, and the staff may or may not make you feel comfortable. Signature Sensuality parties, on the other hand, are meant to create a tasteful and comfortable space to answer your questions and address your unique concerns.
So yes, I would love to send each and every one of your guests home with a fun new toy, a delicious lube, a sexy gift, and a hot guidebook. But even more importantly, I want you and your guests to know that Signature Sensuality is a fantastic resource for tasteful, body-safe and environmentally-friendly sensual products. Whether you place an order at the party or after-the-fact, Signature Sensuality is here for you.
12. Do you accept credit cards/checks/cash?
Yes! I can accept checks, cash and credit card payments during the party.
13. Do I get any goodies if I host a party?
Yes, she who hosts the party reaps rewards. (Beyond the enjoyment of having her friends over, that is.)
As a hostess, you get 8% of party sales applied toward merchandise. (Your hostess compensation rockets up to 10% if 12 or more guests attend.) Plus, you’ll receive a special hostess gift and all your guests will receive a free goody bag.
(BTW, you might let your guests know about that goody bag when you send out your invites!)
14. Does it cost anything for me to host a party?
Nope.
But if I’m planning to come to your party, I can’t schedule another one—so please be courteous of my time. If you have to cancel or reschedule, I do ask that you give me notice at least 7 days prior to your event.
15. I want to host a party at my house. What do you need?
I can work in very small spaces and only require a table for display. I am happy to provide my own table if necessary. I will need a little place out of the way of the party where I can store some totes I’ll bring with me.
I also ask that you provide a semi-private area where I can take orders and answer additional questions one-on-one.
16. My house is too small/too messy/too filled with kids to host a party. Can we do it somewhere else?
Of course! If your home is too small or if it is otherwise inconvenient to host a party there, my office is a great alternative venue. Located in NW Denver, it features a nice conference room and all the comforts of a home, including a kitchen. Please contact me if you are interested in exploring this option.
17. I’m ready to throw a party! What do I do?
If you have a date in mind, let’s get it on my calendar! Saturdays are the most popular evenings for a party; plan—and reserve—parties for these dates well in advance.

I will ask for your credit card number to hold an event date—because if I’m planning to come to your party, I can’t schedule another one! I’ll charge a $25 cancellation fee on that card only if you cancel less than 7 days prior to your event. But as long as you schedule a new date at least 3 days in advance, the cancellation fee will be waived.
